“I've been hunting at Buck Run for a number of years and hope I can continue to share time with Bobby, Dave and Nancy for years and years into the future. My greatest compliment is I have grown to love them as family. Whether chasing gobblers in the spring, hunting velvet bucks in the late summer, watching the buck parades in the fall rut, or enjoying a late season harvest, Buck Run has become my all-time favorite and most special hunting lodge. Buck Run is forever stamped on our family's history and legacy. My son harvested his first deer, first buck, and first turkey here. Bobby and the gang provide wonderful accommodations for relaxing in the cabin and a good night's rest, absolutely the best food thanks to Nancy (she is truly amazing!), a great range to zero rifles and practice shooting out to 500yds, comfortable hangout spots around the grounds, thoughtfulness in stand placement, thousands of acreage to hunt for variety and optionality, and an uncommon personal approach to building relationships with each hunter. They go to extraordinary efforts to ensure every hunter has the best opportunity for success. They also spend a unique amount of time supporting hunters with new rifles, shooting skills, and helping to ensure hunters of all marksmanship levels are able to be as successful as possible. They have opportunities for challenging, long-range shooting hunts, as well as all types of stands and situations great for all levels (hardwoods, lanes, fields, etc.). Buck Run is a very special, open-range, free chase hunting lodge with an incredible team, phenomenal hunting, and the type of character that keeps them at the top of my list for any place I want to hunt. I strongly recommend Bobby and Buck Run to anyone seeking a new, memorable place for a guided hunting experience. ”

"As a deer hunter from New Jersey, I was looking for an “out of state” deer hunting vacation destination where I could use my rifle. Buck Run hunting lodge checks all of the boxes. 100% fair chase, thousands of acres of carefully managed woods with hundreds of safe comfortable stands. The lodge is spotless, the home cooked meals are delicious and Bobby ( the owner and all of his staff ) do their best to exceed your expectations every day. Buck Run also does not “ over book “ their hunts in order to provide a quality experience for all of their hunters. The bag limits are truly amazing, two bucks and two does a day ! "What can I say about Buck Run Hunting Lodge, well, this is the lodge that other hunting camps should strive to be like. From the time I arrived there and was introduced to Mr Bobby Kelz, he made me feel like part of his family. I explained to Bobby what I was trying to do, which is harvest a whitetail deer in every state. I was there to try and do so in South Carolina. He said he would do his best to see that I do. He was not kidding. He and his guides went all out to help me. This was 2021. I did see many bucks, all non shooters, and I did not harvest a deer in 2021. I did return in 2022 and was successful. As for the Lodge, it is very clean, the food compares to your Moms cooking, and it is comfortable. There are rules to follow, and I feel that a camp without rules is chaos. I am now half way through my quest and I was asked by my wife “what am I going to do once I have completed my quest” my reply to her was I will spend my remaining hunting years in the camps which I enjoyed going to the most, Buck Run Hunting Lodge is at the top of that list."

Bobby and his family are very welcoming and you feel at home the minute you arrive. My hunts could not be any better. I was on birds at sunrise and tagged out an hour into my hunt. Bobby made his hunters a priority which is why I continue to go back, year after year."

"I was an adult, first time hunter when I discovered Buck Run in 2022. Searching for a reasonably priced spot to hunt deer in the Southeast, I concentrated on South Carolina because of the many deer I had seen on the way to the beach for annual family vacations. I emailed and almost immediately received a call from Bobby. He patiently answered all my questions and agreed to provide any support I needed to take my first deer. Bobby sat with me on the first morning session and sure enough, after about three cold hours I got a beautiful 100 pound doe with a perfect broadside shot. I think Bobby was more excited than I was! The atmosphere is family friendly, and the food is great. Bobby and the guides continued to patiently answer my questions and provide guidance over the three-day hunt. I continued to gain confidence in my skills with each sitting and I’ve already booked my slot for next season. I’m even going to bring my nephew along. If you’re in search of a first time deer hunting experience, I can’t think of a better place than Buck Run Hunting Lodge."

Buck Run Hunting Lodge is a first-class operation and a truly special place. I had the privilege of hunting there during Turkey Season and it was an incredible and successful trip! I have had numerous friends that have been there during Deer Season, and we all share the same sentiment. Aside from the hunting, the food, hospitality, and lodging provided by Bobby and his Wife were second to none. To be frank, they made us feel like family the second we walked through the door and it set the stage for an amazing trip! I cannot say enough about my experience at Buck Run and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to experience it first-hand. Thank you Buck Run for such a memorable time!
